w115 starter motor replacement

Evening all,

I bought a replacement starter motor some time ago but have only got around to fitting it. I am rebuilding the carb at the moment so this was already off so that access is a little easier.

I am struggling to get the bugger out!

Can anyone give me any tips?

I think MERC actually use a special tool for this.

I think MERC actually use a special tool for this Maybe plus a wobble extension and breaker bar.
HOPE I GOT THE MODEL RIGHT??

That tool looks like it might make it easier. The post on the Mercedes Shop forum is slightly newer and from reading the starter is under the battery tray on that model. Mine is on the other side of the engine but thanks!

I've been trawling those forums also to no avail.

Try lowering the engine a little to get better access.
