Can anyone tell me how it's a Daimler, though? Was MB still DB back then?
 
That's interesting. Never seen a column shift in a coupe - ever!

I'd be wanting to see exactly what's behind those four extra chrome things.
 
I like the early model details like the crossover w114 style steering wheel and unusual seat belt heads with the cut-outs. The column mounted auto shifter is a charming throw-back.

I also much prefer the burr walnut to the later Zebrano. However, coating the cubby hole where the shifter is normally sat is a bit useless: it's asking to be ruined by scratches.

Other positives appear to include no sunroof which rules out leaks and rust in a tricky position.

LPG conversion was pointless give it's only done 58k. I wonder what the story behind that was.
