hi there just joined just got a 230ce 1984 nice motor but not running now still tring to sort it out got spark fuel in tank but wont start just died on our way home rac were as much good as chocolate teapot he almost put the jump leads on wrong never mind

dangerous having a spark in the fuel tank

First thing to check if the fuel pump is running when you turn the ignition on.
Fuel pump relay is common.

thanx i ment it has a spark and fuel in the tank i can here the fuel pump when i switch on goes for 2 secs then cuts out yhink it might be the dizzy has theres a spark but its as if its not fireing at the right time

Yes the fuel pump will prime but then should run continuously when you crank over...

still no joy got the dizzy out seems ok but with the dizzy out the drive in the hole is it ment to turn with ur fingers or is it ment to be sold turned by the engine not the dizzy its self the drive in the engine many thanx
