230E W123
Good day all,

I recently purchased an imported W123 1986 230E directly from South Africa. So far it seems relatively rust free and I would like to keep it that!

Can anyone suggest what I should do about the under carriage, specific products or alternatively can anyone recomend a garage/body shop who does a good service themselves?

Thank you so much in advance!

Niko

Mine is off to South West Rust Proofing this Saturday, they need it for a week.

I am certain there are other specialists around, but these just happen to be within an hours drive from my home, and they have a car to loan out

If you can get a product called fluid film, that would be a good place to start. The best thing you can do is not drive it in the winter months when they salt the roads

I hadn't heard of fluid film till you mentioned it but after researching it seems very good, definitely an option.
Thank you!

Without a doubt Bilt Hamber and its products (Dynax UB, UC and S50). We do loads of different rust treatments. Far better to keep to rust free.

Thanks for the reply, would you be able to quote me for getting it on the ramp and inspecting the condition as well as recommending what needs doing?

I would have checked them out if they were a little closer to me

I would agree re bilt hamber - all of their products are outstanding quality and performance - it is an English company based in Essex I think,
