has anyone come across this before i have a 280ce which is in excellent running order.
however for quite a while there has been a dead bug in the instrument binnacle below the clock.
so yesterday i decide to pull the unit and to remove the little fella.
all went well no issues.
i fired the car up afterwards just to check all was in order no problems.
this morning im off to a classic car gathering. i set of and noticed after a few minutes that the fuel gauge and temp gauge needles are shaking violently in unison. the temp gauge was toward the top end and the fuel gauge showing over half full which wasnt true. on the motorway this grew even worse.as soon as i stopped the gauges return to normal temp and fuel level. but as soon as i set of away it goes again i have had many w123,s over the years and have never come accross this before. i checked that every thing was in the correct place on the rear of the cluster which it is anyone who knows them will know its not really possible to get anything wrong.
everything else works perfectly. anyone have any ideas.
