Hi all
Hope someone can help. Have recently purchased this old gal !
Slowly sorting it out and restoring her to her former glory, here in sunny Spain.
My next task is to drain, flush and refill the coolant.
Only trouble is Im not sure what is the correct stuff.
In the US it seems like Zerex G05 is it, but I cant get that in Spain.
Anyone know the original part number or code?
Was it MB325.0 ??
Thanks
Rob

Any mono ethylene glycol coolant i would imagine. In the UK it is blue in colour.

Try putting the registration number into the website of Spanish motor factor websites and it should show you which coolant is applicable to your car.

Hi
Thanks
I often use autodoc.
They list several as being compatible, but some are MB 325, 325.1,325.2,325.4 and 325.6
So, its really not clear which it should be, as I dont know what the original spec was.
Thanks

The Mercedes handbook for my 1991 w201 190d 2.5 does not mention any spec at all for coolant instead it just states quantities (4.5 litres), percetage neat coolant to be used (55%) and that you must use a coolant that ensures antifreeze protection and contains corrosion inhibitors.

Yes, the handbook for the 1980 w123 300d says "refer to dealer".
Im sure Im not wasting my time asking some guy in spares about a car thats twice his age, lol

Sure you will be fine with any Glycol based coolant. The only no no is mixing different types of coolant, blue with red for example, which is a no brainer.

Well, the stuff thats in there now is just a filth colour, lol.
No idea when it was last changed or if there is any coolant in there, other than water.
Not too keen on the colour identification as it seems different manufacturers use different colour codes
Ive only had the car a few months and slowly going through it
