Boy am I looking forward to the final result ! You deserve a knighthood.
Thanks Martin, still going to be a WIP over a couple of years, as the interior could also do with a refresh, but that's for another year!

Can't remove sunroof without pssobly damaging it, so going to spray it 'in-situ'. Should be fun. Should be ready for spray sometime next week.

Thanks. No, thought they're not damaged, just ugly, so they can wait until I've done the interior. New seals on the sunroof will be done, rear window seals look fine. Luckily the rust wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, so a relatively quick fix. Just want the summer in her before I start anymore jobs. I thought this would be a 3 month job, and it's been 7! Anyway, spoke to the painter yesterday and he reckons he'll have her ready for paint next week. So maybe by May she'll be on the road again!
May be back on the road in May , May the force be with you . :thumb:

I'll get my coat.

May the 4th too maybe....

Yeah, couldn't remove the sunroof fully so sprayed it in situ, as strange as it seems. Took the opportunity to replace the seals too.

Had it's first couple of coats, now needs sanding down before I give it the final coat, then a polish and get the trim back on, then the refit and a service.

Coming close.

Lol! Don't you worry Paul. Looks lovely.

I might be selling mine

Ok, back form the respray, but he hasn't fitted the rear bumper as he appears ot have lost the brackets.

Any one with any ideas of where to source them?

Just clocked this! well you do have a few now!

Just sold my 996 911 so I can buy an old '78 911SC

For brackets Paul i'd go direct to Mercedes.

Would that SC be a Targa? Love a Targa!

And I think i've changed my mind on selling. I unwrapped her after winter, sat in the car and instantly changed my mind lolz!

No, just a whale tail, but a good one, from the US and super tuned, used to compete in historic races. 278hp, immaculate and one owner since new (someone I know). So looking forward to it.

I picked the CE up from the painters yesterday, first time in 4 months, sat in her, and it's a great feeling. Went for a bit of a drive and yeah, the love's still there!

Thanks for the tip about MB, will call them now. I want to be around and about in her within a week.

She’s actually being kitted out now with the interior and wheels, etc, etc. I stripped it all down, took all the interior and trim out and due to having no time over the next week, a local friend who’s a mechanic is doing it all, adjusting the steering box (still a bit lose), giving it an oil and filter change and arranging 4 wheel alignment (we replaced all of the linkages, suspension and bushes etc, so it’s all over the place).

I am hoping to get her back a week Friday and if so, will probably have the inside valeted (if I still have no time) and take some pics then.

I must admit, I am very happy with the paint job, for what it’s worth. Can’t see too much wrong with it from a good 30 mins going over it.

Good luck with the fitting out, I'm sure your mate will do a good job, 'else you wouldn't have trusted him. :)

Just bought a new exhuast and sound proofing. Hoping to get her back next week, and yes, will post some piccies.

He's someone I've known for years, and I do trust him. Still some issues with the interior, but we'll get there; just wanted the body sound first!

Cheers guys.
