W123 M115 Best Oil?

After a while without one of these beauties, I've just picked up a pre facelift 230 with the carb engine. I've done a few Google searches, but can't find a definitive answer re engine oil, and I don't have the owner's manual.

What's the recommended oil or best to use in the ancient M115 it has?

I would suggest an oil that meets the MB 229.1or later standard-[usually marked on the container if it does] A 10W40 semi synthetic changed at the recommended service intervals will be fine from Fuchs, Shell, or Millers Oils.
