Morning All,

Whilst driving last night, number 12 fuse, (8A one) blew, and upon replacement went straight away again. I wasn't able to run any tests, chiefly because of the weather, but I wondered if anyone may have an idea of where to start with checks. The only possible thing I thought of was that I spilt a really small amount of water around the centre console where the electric windows switches are. Could that (literally a few drops) cause this, and if so any cures chaps?

Cheers,

Mike

No, I don't think that would cause your problem.
What you need to do is make yourself up a test lamp with a bright bulb - an old headlamp bulb is ideal and, with the fuse out put it across the bulb holder. Be careful where the bulb rests as it may get hot.
Now when the short is present the bulb will glow full brightness. Anything else and it will glow less brightly and there will be some functionality of the devices - e.g. brakes will work but will be dimmer, heater will work but slowly etc.
Higher current draw devices such as windows may cause the light to glow brightly, but you get the picture.
Give it a try- do it logically and you will get to the problem.
