Various Mercs come and go
Just thought I would post my views on the following car that was advertised on e-bay recently, especially as I'm looking for a bodykit to fit to my own car.

Here's the car I spotted on e-bay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=150080039749&rd=1&rd=1

Now I should have realised judging by the very poor write up that this was going to be a waste of time and how right I was.

As you can see the car did not sell through e-bay, so I arranged to go and have a look at the car this morning.

Got to the garage which had all the hallmarks of "Dodgy Motors Inc" to be met by an unfriendly owner who just pointed at the car and said there it is.

Well, what a heap of Sh**te. All the usual rust points had been filled badly and sprayed in with a spray can, so the car looked rubbish.

Engine had a bad oil leak from the timing cover gasket and more importantly a leak from the rear offside on the block, indicating the start of a blowing head gasket and all in all was a complete dog of a car

Non of these things were that important to me, as all I really wanted was the bodykit and I would probably have stripped the car for parts and then scrapped it, it was that bad.

So how much do you want for it I ask.....

£2500 mate as its got a special AMG chassis....

really, says I, its just a 300E 24 with a Sportline Chassis and the only thing AMG about it is the bodykit.

You don't know what you're talking about mate says the owner, I'm not going to sell it for anything less than £2500.

Well the conversation carried on for a bit longer with the guy convinced that it was the best W124 there was and that it was a true bargain and would not listen to being told otherwise.

Goodness only knows how this bloke sells cars for a living and I pity anybody who buys anything off him.....he just about summed up all that's bad about second hand car dealers!!!!!!

So if it comes back on e-bay....be warned its a complete dog of a car!

Its a dog alright

What kids of dealership as a Pool table in next to the cars that are on sale?

a shame really cos it would have been a good doner car for the bodykit and sportsline interior.

Vlad if your interested i know a guy who has a 300e with genuine amg body conversion. pm if interested.

So I take it he did'nt want to sell you the body kit for £50.00 then ?

Good job I did not go as I would have told him exactly what I thought of the car and him and laughed at the asking price.

Bet he is using this "shoddy" so called showroom with the lovely pool table as a front just to launder money...
