I have seen this ECU for sale on Ebay. Whilst there are other things that might be causing my misfire (Ive yet to fit my 2nd hand EHA or use my new spark tester) it seems plausible that my ECU could be causing the problem.

So given the one for sale is the same engine type (ill have to check the part number) allbeit from a saloon rather than a coupe, are these just plug and play and universal? or is each ECU tailored for the individual engine?, the price is reasonable (so far) to just buy as a backup / alternative for testing if they are swappable?

    Any ideas?

    Cheers
    Simon

Best to get the part number off yours and match it up.

I have a feeling there are differences between manual and automatic gearbox cars cat and non cat and maybe between saloons, coupes and estates-different weights different gearing etc but probably interchangeable?
Came across this interesting thread on "the darkside" on an ECU DIY repair on the output transistors if its of interest. http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=9034
