Hi All,

We've got a 1991 300CE-24 that has a tachometer that doesn't work. Just had the top end serviced and the garage said the sensor fell apart when they took it off, but were unable to find a replacement. The car runs fine without the Tachoi working but I'd like to get it fixed.

Can anyone help me identfiy where the sensor is in the engine bay, or where to find one online? Thanks in advance

There is no sensor for the tacho, it runs from the ignition module (EZL) which reads from the crank sensor. If the crank sensor fails the car wont run. It may just be the connections on the back of the tacho.

I would go back to the garage and ask them exactly wnhat it was that fell to bits and do they still have it.
