This morning the wiper decided to give up the ghost (along with the pump from the wash bottle) Coincidentally, the electric windows stopped working (although they started again when I stopped and stopped again when I started).

Have checked fuses - ok. Could it be the relay or some other gremliny type bug? Obviously, with all the snow, slush and salt on the road at the moment the car is like Cyclops with an eye patch on

It may be worth finding out why the fuse popped in the first place. Possibly the wiper froze to the screen and took it out.

Hi Stratman,

Most likely the water was frozen in the lines and electric strain on pump popped the fuse.

Hi John,

I've just bought a 1990 300CE which seems to be suffering from the same problem as yours. The wiper moved about 5 inches then stopped altogether (the water pump isn't doing anything either). The windows and sunroof currently go down, but then only go back up if i have the door open.

I checked the fuses and all seemed ok (they are the old style ones), however, i'm going to have a double check now. Do you know what fuse number it was?

Cheers, Justin.
