a hint of some service history would help

I would rather buy a 200k mile one with a book full of stamps than an 80k with no idea at all

Worth going to see..... V5 is there so genuine seller wouldn't have a problem with viewer contacting previous owner to find out what services have been done in their ownership...

Pity its in Penrith........ otherwise I could be tempted........

The sides of the load area are damp, mouldy & rusty and all the steel bits in the engine bay are bleeding rust. I suspect it's been sitting for quite a while

I noticed the damp handbook an dinside the side pouches. I'd say it leaks.

I agree, a low mileage on these cars is not necessarily a selling point - they need to be regularly driven and fully serviced. A 175,000 miler, regularly used with proper service history, would be a better bet in my opinion.

I agree I saw all that surface corrosion too. I reckon there is more chance of me having tea with the queen than that mileage being genuine. All the other paper work is there but somehow the service book has gone for a walk; I wonder why. I would go and have a look if it were less than 20 miles away.

My Brother in law was interested and e-mailed him twice about service history and once asking for a phone number, he got no replies

What an enormously wordy ad for that scruffy 230TE.

Bolide's the man, he came to see one of mine once, top guy, fount of knowledge.
I've bought three old merc diesel's off ebay in 2 years; each had 'issues', some of which I should have spotted, not described or disclosed in the ad. text. Treat all cars on there like you would at the unwarranted section of a car auction.
IMHO aI it was that good, he'd have phoned up w124.co.uk striaght off, no?
