Hi All,

My 1992 W124 300TD (OM603 engine) has this evening decided to keep running even when the ignition is switched off and the key removed.

I am aware that this may a vacuum related problem but I am unsure how to diagnose and rectify it - can anyone help?

Thanks

I have a brand new spare shut off valve if you need it, ten minutes to fit, easy repair.

Sorry Pete

Iirc, on the 300d there is also a vacuum line leading from the key barrel to the shut-off valve (?). Either way, loss of vacuum in that line will prevent the engine from turning off. In other words, the shut-off valve itself might not be faulty.
