Personal preference.

I've been through the ringer several times for this... but I just want one. An itch to scratch.

Plus I can speed it up a bit. And I'm genuinely in no rush.

I'll be posting in the wanted section as soon as my post count is at 30, ha!

Fair play to you; if that’s what you want - then that’s what you want!

Have you had any test drives of any W124’s yet? Are you after a doer-upper or a half tidy do-bits-as-you-go-along?

Ideally I'd like an outstanding mint example for pennies... but bank in reality world, I'd settle for something scruffy. As ever, it's a sliding scale - if it's really cheap then I'd consider something really quite rough, but really it would be a 'rolling restomod' affair - suspension, rust removal, interior etc.

Not worried about visual stuff, as long as no structural corrosion and the oily bits are good I'm happy.

No worries for dead or dying suspension, no worries for ratty interior, etc.

To be fair, as long as it's been maintained, it wouldn't scare me too much.

Still, for robustness I think a standard RWD flavour is probably a safer bet...
