Last weekend it was driving fine and was parked with fuel on reserve. Went for a couple of miles run later and noticed that it "hicupped" once or twice but forgot to fill up. Yesterday I decided to take it for a run and fill up but it refused to start, just normal engine cranking but no start. Thought it might be the fuel, filled it with 2 litres. Still dry cranking with no start. Decided to call in the RAC rather than kill the battery. RAC chap checked spark was ok, fuel supply ok, pulled out plugs (soaked with fuel) cleaned and dried with flame gun, cleaned fuel distributor but still no start. He called a friend on the telephone who was also surprised at no start situation. In the end, he gave up and thought it might be a over-fueling problem as the spark plugs were getting soaked. So the ole lady remains parked.
I bought a new set of spark plugs and am waiting for the rain to clear to have another stab at the problem.......any suggestions as to what may be causing the non-start situation?

Check the distributor cap and rotor arm.

Spot on Will, set of new plugs and a new dizzy cap (cleaned the old rotor), started first time and purrs like a cat now.
NGK Plugs and dizzy cap from ECP, cheap by miles to any other.

Glad you got it sorted :)

Will
