There were certain versions of the M104 which may have had a separate oil cooler radiator mounted at the front of the car. I thought this was restricted to engines fitted to the R129 or possibly to other models destined for certain export markets. If a separate oil cooler is fitted it will have a thermostatic valve fitted in the oil filter housing to prevent oil circulation when the oil is cold. Its item 30
