W124 320te boot lock

Just doing some jobs on the w124 320te.... new headlamp lens, repair to d pillar trim. i was wondering did all W124 estates come with a powered motor to close the rear boot lock?

I believe that some of the older ones did not have this function. I remember having an E reg 200 and that one certainly did not have self closing boot mechanism.

i had 300 te 86 and 87 both had self closing, and when closing pls shut gently and let lock up, slamming does break self closing, the design/technology then introduced to self closing doors in w140

Yours should have it.

I suspect it will need a lock and or the wiring is kaput in the hinge.
