Do any of you helpful chaps have the part number for the nearside & offside (maybe the same) anti roll bar rubber bush for a W124 300CE (1990)?!

They came up on the advisory as deteriorating and i'm changing them next week - just one thing though, the offside advisory says "anti roll bar LINKAGE rubber mounting" and the nearside says "anti-roll bar rubber mounting" but quote the same ref (2.4.G.3)....any difference?!

Cheers, Justin.

If its the same as mine it will have four rubber bushes that slide over the ends of the bar into position. The two inner ones have a larger bore than the outers. Get them from the main dealer - they are not that dear. Just give them your VIN or reg.

A 124 323 49 85 outer

A 124 323 56 85 inner

These are the numbers without sport suspension.

Many thanks for all your help fellas, will get them ordered direct from Merc.

Cheers, Justin.

All ordered - £24.79 all in! Always seem to have a bit a wait whenever ordering through Merc due to the car being imported.

ARB Bushes for W124 Cabrio

Does anyone know if the bushes are the same part numbers for the Cabrio? My 1996 E220 cabrio (non sportline) needs the bushes changing and I have heard conflicting stories.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

As they're pretty reasonably priced, it maybe worth giving your local MB dealer a buzz with your VIN number Michael.

send me your vin and I will give you the part numbers!!

That’s a late model car mate. Late 1996 possibly 1997??

I have just had my stabiliser bar bushes replaced without replacing anything else on the suspension or steering. Stabiliser bushes make SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE to straight line stability, precise turn in to corners and of course keeping the body from rolling in corners. They also make the cabs scuttle shake A LOT less. I was very surprised just how much of a difference these cheap little things make - seriously!! Best bang for your handling buck by far. Word of caution though, MB instructions say to install them WITHOUT lubrication. They have a special material in the inner bore that will decay with lubrication. You may need to use a bit of lube to get the old ones off though.

If your car has poor straight line stability, shakes a bit and rolls a little, get these changed with what ever else you need to change to reduce the problem. Even ON THEIR OWN THEY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE and that really surprised me!!

All the best to one and all, W.

Polyturethene

Has anyone fitted poly bushes to their ARB's?
