can anyone give me info on 124 bumpstops or springpads, ie where i could get them and what different ones there are to alter the ride height of the car.

as far as i know bump stops are there to stop car bottoming out, not anything to do with ride height. i.e if to much weight in car it will sit on bump stops when all available spring travel is used up.

They are called spring cups.

They range from a 1 nipple to a 4 nipple. 1 being the lowest and often fitted to sporty models.

Expect a 30mm difference between the extremes.

can theses be bought from the dealers.

Yes of course. Every part is available.

See here.

It's a little bit complicated to work out exactly which springs and cups (called 'shims' in the parts catalogue) you should have on your car - the details are in the footnotes at the bottom of the page.
