Maybe that included an interior re-trim. The car's done 205k km (which incidentally is over 127k miles ... not 124k miles as stated in the ad!).

Now that you mention it I can see what you mean. Could be copies or from a different model. I had the same issue with our 124 before putting the AMGs on it. The original spec had 8 hole alloys on the data card. After a couple of weeks I realised one looked subtley different. When I took them off it turned none was genuine. No part numbers.

I’m not yet experienced enough to tell if the wheels are moody or not, but I do like the look of them all polished up.

Once done, how would one maintain the shine? Could they then be lacquered to save the grief, or would it be a case of continual polishing?

They will deteriorate pretty quickly whatever you do. Cleaning 2-3 x week + some protection will help but they will corrode eventually.

One giveaway is where the valve is positioned in the wheel. Genuine ones are in line with the bolt holes, and I don't think these are.

looks lovely, its got 1 thing mine dont (massage seats) but mines got 4 it dont have, electric seats, cruise control, 5 speed box, sweets in the center console
