W124 Cabrio "Tombstones"

Hi all,
I ran over a mini roundabout a bit briskly today in my CE220 cabrio today and the rear tombstone headrests deployed. I've been reading the thread about the similar CLK problem and wondered if anyone knew how to reset the W124 headrests? My local specialist ( Eddie at Mercare, Plymouth) reckons it is a rear seat out job and a couple of hours work. If there is an easier way I'd love to know.The car is a 1996 (N) facelift CE220 convertible.

You should be simply able to retract them using the raise lower control? You may have to reset the limit switches on the lower rear spring suspension arms first. http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/interior/60038-going-crazy-rear-headrest-w124-cabrio.html

I followed the "8 second" method found in the link posted by Grober. Tombstones now laid to rest!! Ta very much for the help.
