Guys,

I have a problem whereby my passenger side window gets to half way up then simply slows to a complete stop about 30% away from total closure. It appears as though the forward most part of the glass becomes stuck and needs to be tugged up to align with the rest of the glass.

Is this the regulator (seems strong) or is it a problem with the way in which the glass is sitting in the regulator?

Any advice on pulling apart the door to investigate?

Thanks in advance

The mechanism is probably 'crudded' up with oil/lube/dirt etc etc....

My front windows do the same, is another job on the 'to do list' that never seems to get done.....

Mine used to do exactly the same Charan. Taking the door card off is pretty straight forward, from memory, you need to remove the plastic cover part where the wing mirror is (do this carefully as the plastic clips can snap), then disconnect the puddle light at the bottom of the door card (if you have them of course), then, after taking the screws out there are a couple of plastic clips at the edges around the card which need to be prised out carefully with a screwdriver - also take note how the metal 'bar' at the top slots in as this was a bit of a bugger to put back afterwards.

I then greased up all parts where necessary and then took out the motor, which when turned upside down released quite a bit of water! I sprayed a load of WD40 inside & the window now goes up & down as it should, albeit not overly quickly. To be honest the motors in the windows are original and could probably do with changing, but that's something that can wait for now.
