W124 Coupe Rear Seat Belt mechanism location?

Hello, one of the rear selt belts in my 220 CE has jammed, won't unroll at all, I though the mechanism might be accessible from the boot but I couldn't find it, is it in the rear pillar or something?

You will have to remove the rear seat base and back + the trim on the rear pillar. You might get away with just the rear trim panel since the belt passes tho a couple of belt guides there which may be causing the jam.

Ah, ok, is that trim panel just held in with clips?

I might take the seat out anyway, I've got a dodgy audio cable from my cd changer that needs changing which I think is routed under there anywhere.

AFAIK there are 3 plastic clips along the leading edge of the trim panel( the sloping part of the little side window) pull the panel edge carefully towards the centre of the car then once the clips are free slidethe panel towards the front of the car.
