W124 cuts off while driving

Hi Guys,

I have k reg 1993, 220e Mercedes w124 coupe I have noticed whilst driving on a hill it tends to loose power and jumps back to gear 1/2. With no response from throttle.

However whilst in idle mode (p) it revs perfect, fuel pressure and injector have been recently tested and that side seems good. Any suggestions to fix the problem please forward your views.

Folks can the ovp and fpr be purchased from merc dealers? For the w124

Delb0y you opened up an old post going back to 2021 I buy new parts if i can .
Well you can buy Bosch FPR new or pre owned from Ebay dont have any other make .Also the OVp relay . I go good used secondhand the cost of new parts are out of this world .Even Ebay parts are getting expensive . But only buy the right parts. And use the original part number , or message the seller and ask him if it will be fine for your model .Put a wanted ad on the forum for both items .That way you know they will be fine.

I'm trying to figure out if the ovp in the car is the correct one, I have checked ebay it's all used ones not even re con, which is what I'd prefer so I know it's going to last, that's if it is the ovp that's the issue. I've got the vin if any kind gent could tell me the part numbers that would be appreciated. As I'm pretty sure it's one of these parts that's causing the idle and cutting out issue

Check your engine earth strap and its connections. Mercedes of that age can also suffer from wiring loom insulation breakdown which becomes brittle and cracks causing shorts

ALSO some of these relays develop dry joints [cracks] in the little internal circuit boards which can be repaired by resolderiing them
