Evening-So my mate has just collected his E300 diesel W124 (1994) and has taken it to his local indy. Got a few niggly bits sorted out. The fuel filter has been changed but now, very intermittantly the yellow coil lamp (glow plug) lamp flickers up during driving. Any ideas why?

    In short no!!

I've had it come on after I have started and then go off again once things have warmed up. Indicating a duff glow plug.

Others of a more technical nature will pop along soon I am sure.

Mine shows the gp light very occasionally then it stops again, think it is a duff plug as it starts on 5 rather than 6 a bit smokey then after 5 seconds it's fine.
Haven't bothered to change it yet as the ambient is always fairly warm down here, my dearly beloved frequently forgets to even wait for the glow light to go out starting it as a normal car and it still fires up after a 3 second crank. I intend to do a gp change and pipe and seal overhaul later in the year.
