Hi there guys and girls if any. I'm looking for a new windscreen for my old lady since I just found a huge crack today in the middle of it (happened over night) I'm looking for a shop near Crewe or a 30 miles radius of it. I'll upload tomorrow some pictures of the damage since it's quite late now.

If you're insured fully comp just get one from auto glass. It's normally only £80.

The car isn't registered in UK so I'll have to pay for the windshield.

One of the chains, autoglass or autowindscreens is probably still your best bet

Like most screens nowadays these are glued in and assist in the car body rigidity.This means they have to be removed with special tools for the job. There is potential for damage to the paintwork and and future sealing of a new windscreen--- if it leaks you will never sort it properly without replacing the winscreen again!! I would use the pukka MB screen if you can get one and be advised by your your local MB dealer or MB specialist as to who to use to replace it. While some of the autoglass autowindscreens guys are very good they are budget / time /throughput oriented in their work. I would take time to find a good "screen man" before committing.

Well i've been on google lately and i haven't read good things about auto glass so i'm trying as much as i can to avoid them. I booked a appointment with Nation Windscreen waiting for a call from them to get a quote for the work. I hope that it wont be any paint damage since i just repainted the car in January 2015.

Hi, just use some caution, national windscreens fitted screen to my e 350 coupe 2010, insurance advised that should use them, did not look right when fitted, cracked from A pillar after 300miles, they said a stone had hit the screen, after first admitting it was faulty, ! The insurance refuse to fit a like for like screen, a genuine one from same people who supply MB, Ongoing issue about to use an independent windscreen company and pay for screen myself, beware
