In a recent PM from a forum member he requested some part numbers for consumables for servicing a 1995 W124 E 220 COUPE. This is a list from miscellaneous sources which might prove useful to other forum members. This is not a definitive list by any means and folks should check out the numbers for themselves before ordering but might be of assistance.

morning can you please tell me i have been quoted £180 for oil, filter and seal change on my E220 W124 is this cheap..labour and parts, oil.

COST OF PARTS--- Oil ----- 5 litres good quality 10w40 semisynthetic £20-£25 MB quality Filter [ comes with O ring] ----£5-£10 seal= copper washer for sump---- 50 p---- labour Say about an hour??? VAT etc ---------- so a bit pricy I would have thought---- shop around a bit but don't let them skimp on the quality of the oil and filter used when comparing prices or alternatively supply your own?

can you also tell me were i could purchase 2 sunroof arms as one of them is bent and it does not slide,iv had a quote from MB,s £99 each arm.can this be purchased any were eles.

the guy was also telling me i would need 8 liters of oil...
May have been referencing some standard text from an oil company The oil capacity is quoted as 5.8 litres but bearing in mind some residual engine oil and filling to half way between min and max up the dipstick [ recommended practice] I have never required more than 5 litres for a change

VERY UNLIKELY -- only cheaper option would be a breakers yard --- you can't straighten the bent one?

sorry Graeme, its the gearbox oil, filter and seal not engine oil...

Sounds about right then in that case- its a bit more time consuming especially getting the level correct. Gearbox fluid spec is Dexron 2 but you will gain slightly better cold start changes with Dexron 3 which backward compatible. I run FUCHS TITAN ATF 4000 [ Dexron 3] but ATF 3000 [DEXRON 2] will be fine.
