W124 E320 Cabrio water in trunk

For some time I noticed that the trunk of my '95 E320 Cabrio was wet and when you opened the trunk, water ran out.
I found out that when the car sits in the rain, water ran past the third brakelight into the trunklid. I disassembled that brakelight and put it back with a bead of silicone. No more water in the trunk.

Useful tip, but I think the third brake light is a US spec. I don't recall seeing them fitted to 124s over here.

Mine definitely hasn’t got the “third” light, and it hasn’t got water in the boot either, yet; (that pleasure is still to come).
