W124 E36 Coupe

Wooooaaah! 9,000 puppies is a lot of cash to part for. Personally I would have got myself a C43 :)

It looks in superb condition, and has low mileage. The seller describes a good spec, but definatly not worth what they want for it!

Having said that, has anyone else noticed how much W124 E36s are going for nowadays?

The Hairpin Company had an bodykit'ed estate for sale a couple of years ago, priced at £10,000
They now have another without a kit, agian £10k.
A 3rd estate was for sale on PH a little while back (I posted about it) That was £13k IIRC.
And then the couples which are around, again for £10k+
A MBOC member was at a concourse a few years ago, and he was selling it for over £20,000! For those who remember, the car was used by Merc Enthusiast for an E36 feature - Jan. 2004. The same article used akash's E36 saloon too, AFAIK (they're can't be too many red E36 saloons around ;) )
His saloon seems to be the cheapest E36 around. Aren't they're the rarest aren't too?

I know these are rare cars, but '124s are only worth so much, aren't they?

I think that this E36 coupe on Pistonheads is slightly more special than most because it has low mileage and looks in fantastic condition.

Even so, only so many of us appreciate these cars and so it will inevatibly be difficult to price.

I don't blame the seller for not wanting to undersell his car. Genuine interested parties will obviously make contact and negotiate the price perhaps after a viewing :)

If this was at one of the specialist dealers of MB models I reckon it'd be up for a chunk more than £10k personally ;)

It doesn't look to have an AMG body styling package, that may discourage some buyers, and perhaps some may prefer it without?

It in fact wasnt my car in the mag, oddly enough the car in the mag used to belong to a chap who worked around the corner from me, Mike. Nice chap, I was polishing my coupe when he asked, is that a 36? When I said it wasnt and was only a 320 he took me for a spin, I knew then I wanted one.

I think that coupe is worth every penny! £10k gets you a genuine example of a very rare car with little miles. If I didnt have 2 already I might be been interested :D

From the very limited numbers of E36 saloons, two were ordered in that gorgeous red colour and cream leather combination! Great to see two Merc nuts out there had the same excellent tastes and liked the understated looks of no bodykit! :)

The other one had a similar spec, with the addition of electric drivers seat.

I know there is a member here with a Black E36 Saloon with a kit, Ive also seen a Silver E36 saloon with a body kit, it was up for sale a year ago with 100k @ £11k.

There's also this one:

ETA: For some reason, they seem to have updated that advert since I last read it. The description before quoted the mileage - 217k miles!

I wonder how much of a "refurbishment" it requires?

If thats the mileage, its pretty high. Id guess it would need some engine work in the near future. Nice looking car though.

The coupes are the most "common" of the e36's, there were 24.

Maybe, but if I don't want a saloon or estate that means there's only 24 of them to choose from!

The was the mileage quote by them, but the now omitted paragraph also said it had a full service history, with the headgasket and ECU/wiring harness replaced in the last couple of years. I wonder why they've now deleted that information?
Also it's dropped in price. It was £5,995.

Come on guys, Who bought the saloon? it sold half an hour ago.....

The coupe appears to be being sold by a trader - hence the price.

Your right, I spoke with him, the first ting he said was which mercedes?
