Seems like it`s a lot of work sorting out the rust Mercedes E36 AMG W124 Very Rare - 12 Produced, only 3 known to exist now | eBay

The only troublesome part would be the welding on the roof, worst place to have to weld.

I remember that car, was on car and classic years ago. If Im not mistaken Ian B Walker went or was going to see it? Was up in Preston at the time.

How would it be so rusty on the roof?

Given that the number plate E36 AMG has been advertised at £15k, this "seems" to be a steal at an initial bid of £2,600. Realistically, I think the car would need to undergo a full bodywork restoration, and the final bill will only become apparent as the car is taken apart. The roof rust is the most visible and concerning thing. Definately worth saving if you have the money and the garage space.

Hmm for a car to show such visibly bad rust spots - one wonders what the areas that you cannot easily see look like. e.g. floorpan, underbody

Agree with DITTRICH will need full respray to look good plus it has been parked up for over 2 years. Looking at perhaps 4 or 5k to recommission and then it still has 220k on the clock so will be difficult to sell on. Would o ly work for someone who can do the work themselves or has friends in the trade plus would need to be a keeper as resale Market limited. Love that azurite blue though!

Funnily enough the E300d i'm going to break came from Port Glasgow and has rust in the same places on the roof and a pillar.
