W124 E500 performance upgrade question

Guys

I have a question for any e500/500e experts. I am looking at getting another merc in 2011/2012 to go with my e320 coupe (wife permitting ). I like the e500 along with R129 SL and poss a CL V12.
My question is, what performance upgrades can be done to the E500 V8 to up the HP from the std 326bhp. I am hoping Tabir can pass on some of his know how as he has owned many with varied states of tune. With it being an old NA engine without forced induction and modern ECU's I am guessing the options are limited.

any wisdom would be appreciated.

I hope you`re going for a 500e mate,also like to ad that I`d be jealous
You can supercharge it but is not very cheap

I dont think there are that many options that are easy to do with an M119... There is limited space under the bonnet to start with.

Im not sure Talbir has done much engine wise to his 500's.

You could go down the Renntech route...

I think you might find it just a little expensive to do. The original cost US$178,000 back then!
