I think he might be the same guy who has brought quite a few BMW's and MB's from Japan. I've seen pics taken for such cars in the same surroundings for sale in Dubizzle...I could be wrong though.

edit: Yup the same guy. He's got a AMG kit 560 SEC for sale etc. He's actually in Abu Dhabi not Dubai at least per the adverts he has.

Back to the topic:

I have received two quotes for shipping:

From Hanko to Tilbury (sails on Tuesdays and arrives on Fridays)

515 EUR plus BAF 57.7% (fuel surcharge 57.7% after 13th of Nov, currently 63.3%) + VAT 23% = 1000.21 EUR = 801.41 GBP

another one

680 EUR plus BAF plus 17 EUR handling fee plus BAF 23% = 1341.58 EUR = 1074.46 GBP

Thanks I would take you up on this but I dont have time to fly to finland at the moment and certainly not 3 days to drive back. if the car was closer I would certainly have called you by now..

I am thinking though.

I'm sure there are plenty of members that have got plenty of time to fly to Finland and drive it back if you want to buy them a ticket Jay ? ;)

Is that autoscout car a limited edition E60 AMG as it has limited edition interior? It should also have LE wheels then, right? Is there any other way to tell than by checking the VIN for 957 code?

Here's the the vin from the Photos WDB1240361C142254, can anyone decode please?

I'd fly out to Finland and drive a car back...

Id bet that any E60's are registered at 500's with a 6.0 engine size.

I would snap this up but the chap is in Finland, he is private and dealing with the transport is difficult... Im not going to hand over £20K to someone without seeing the car and then driving it away myself..

Why not I did! and look what happened. Oh yeh right.......;)

EPC lists it as AMG 500E 6.0 / E500 / E60 AMG

However , datacard has it as an E500

It does state code 958 there which is what matters

So if I got this right the car in question is a limited E500 which is converted to E60 later on? E60 limited should have both 957 and 958 codes?

Jay, offer the man £20K delivered, you know it makes sense.;)

If someone is serious about buying the vehicle I can split the shipping costs 50/50. That's the best I can, and will do.

Also the offer of paying return ticket costs is valid in case someone wants to view the car and opts not to buy the thing. Ryanair cargo, not BA 1st class though :D

I can be reached via email or phone if someone wants to reach me. Both are visible in the link in the beginning of this thread.

Datacard of my E60 below for reference.

Considering the state of many of the vehicles you've brought back to life this one looks like a piece of pee.

What would it need to make it concours? £5k?

Find me a concours E60 AMG W124 for £25K.

For sale at a well known Merc specialists soon???

Jay - buy this before I/Ironside does...

Beautiful machine, £3-4k max thrown at it and it will be mint.

No disrespect to the owner but I still don't think its worth £20k.

500E - no pun taken, don't worry :)

A sale takes place when the seller's and buyer's view about the price / valuation of a certain item meets. Your (500E) view is different from mine, and that's completely acceptable. Perhaps You are right with the valuation, perhaps I am?

There's a less expensive car available: Mercedes-Benz E 60 AMG als Limousine in Sofia ,and a car which costs about the same Mercedes-Benz echter E 60 AMG Japan Import Rostfrei 82tkm als Limousine in Bielefeld. As far as I know neither of these are original E60's with 957 option: 1st one for sure and 2nd not 100% sure though.

Then there's a bit more expensive car: Gebrauchtwagen: Mercedes-Benz, E 60 AMG, Sondermodell, Benzin, which appears to be based on E500 LTD and is converted lated on (based on datacard in this very thread), and then there's a LOT more expensive car: Gebrauchtwagen: Mercedes-Benz, E 500, E 60 AMG Limousine W124, Benzin, which I would dare to assume is original and mint regardless of mileage.

A person who is going to buy an E60 will most likely know what there is available and at what price though.

No one is forced to buy my car with a price they don't feel comfortable with, and I am not going to donate the car - even though the head of the household has given me instructions to get rid of some of the cars I have.

Perhaps I'll invest a few k euros on the car and I'll keep it myself for a few more years. Most likely I would get a better ROI than putting that money into the bank? Well I need good luck explaining that to the head of the household though...

There is no doubting it's a rare car. Especially being an original one. I'd imagine your open to offers so I think you may get a buyer.

Do you have a full itemised service record? It looks in poor condition for 64k miles and is in desperate need for some tlc!!!

Love it though and it I was rich I'd be on the next flight to Finland.

Service record topic has been discussed in the 1st page of this thread already. So in short: this is a typical Jap-import car with no records unfortunately. They do record the mileage in each MoT (shaken as they call it) and there are no discrepancies in the odo-readings i.e. 120k km's in 2010 and 104k km's in 2012. The car has been shaken in June 2012.

Yes it does need some TLC - I guess I haven't tried to say the car was mint to begin with and there's lots of pictures of the good and of the bad. I think it's better to be open about the bad as well as about the good in order to avoid any disappointments. Better for someone to be positively surprised about the car rather than negatively surprised IMHO.

In my opinion the price is pretty fair - it's not dirt cheap for someone to buy it as it is and just flip and make money out of it though, so this automatically removes 'speculators' from the equation. Anyone who is looking for an E60 can buy another car - they don't have to buy this one if this is too rough or needs too much attention to their taste. I have linked the other E60's I am aware of as reference so these are an option for a potential buyer as well.

If I don't get what I want I'll just keep it and fight with my wife and I'll fix those small things it needs and then I can re-advertise the car as mint if I want to sell it.

I'm no expert , and I will bow to those who are , but how can you tell it is tired from looking at the pictures.

I keep looking at them and it looks ok to me , maybe the seat bolster is a little flat , but that's all I can see honestly
