Hi I recently bought a 1992 300e saloon in really great condition. The aerial is totally shot so I bought a universal cheapo one off ebay but on trying to fit it the old adage 'you get what you pay for' was ringing in my ears!
The one I removed is a Bosch.Could that be an original fit?Would a Hirschmann one go in easily if I shell out over a hundred pound for one?
I'm tempted to just fit a decent quality manual one but I must admit the old leccy aerial is all part of the old school charm.
Anyone know where to source a good alternative?OEM preferably.

Hirschmann and Bosch were used. The UK cars mostly had dealer fit aerials etc. The saloon ones are different to estates etc. Make sure you get the right one.

Grab a second-hand Hirschmann, there must be loads of them around. The new mast is only £29 from the main stealers, and it's a doddle to fit, if it even needs it!
