W124 Electric Aerial

I checked that this worked on my 230TE before picking it up but blow me down it has already packed up.

Aerial is stuck in up position and does not get reception until the electric motor has finished.

Does anyone have some good advice. Can this be fixed or am I looking at an entirely new unit?

Also does anyone know a source for second hand mercedes head units as all the modern stuff looks rubbish?

I think you will find that you can buy just the mast from your local dealer without having to buy the motor etc.

Apparently, the price is quite reasonable.

Most masts cost around £25, however i did get charged £90 to replace a mast on my SL. But then i had the whole aerial replaced for around £110.

It looks like it is not a merc/hirschman so the whole unit needs replacing.

£65 all done does not sound too bad so I will go for that
