W124 Electrics

I just noticed that the electric seat and electric window buttons on my car operate without the key in the ignition when the passenger door is open, but not when the drivers door is open.

As opening the drivers door does operate the interior light, I was wondering whether the switch in the door is broken, or is it simply that MB didn't change the set up for RHD cars, in the same way they left the arm rest on the left seat for RHD cars?

Thought I'd ask before trying to fix something that possibly isn't broken.

Should work with either front door open. Could be a wire is damaged where they go through the door.

yep defo should happen with all doors open

Thanks for the input. I managed to find the offending loose wire and fix the problem.
