When doing a brake check at the weekend I noticed a the 3 bungs on front side of each rear arch had suspiciously raised under seal around them and sure enough taking the bungs caused the hole get about 10mm wider.

They'll need welding properly, and I was wondering whether it's actually worth reinstating the holes for the bungs, or just sealing them up? they seem to be weakness in a high impact area and the areas behind them now have a good coating on Bilt Hamber dynax so should be o.k on the inside for a while.

I would say yes. Seal the area off and there's no way (or at least it's more difficult using any other access/drainage holes elsewhere) to get any cavity wax in. Even using zintec (zinc electroplated steel) or even galvanised steel to repair things the heat from welding will locally destroy the zinc leaving no corrosion protection inside

If I were you I would just seal them up.

When you weld them all the wax will immediately melt away... you need the holes to re apply the wax.

Remember the wax doesnt last forever, you need to re apply it every few years.
