W124 Estate wanted

I'm currently looking for a good W124 estate. Would prefer a later model petrol and a E280 or E320 with the following if possible:

Dark colour
Cruise control
Aircon
CD player
MOT and tax

But none of the above are as important to me as:

Good condition in and out
As rust/rot free as possible
Good service history with paperwork (not just a stamped book) - at least the recent stuff.
If a 280 or 320 then a renewed wiring loom etc. would be real bonus.

Not bothered about leather or cloth interior, but would like as good condition as possible. Also, mileage is not really an issue for me, I appreciate buying on condition is more important (hence why my current daily driver is a 135,000 mile Fiat Coupé Turbo!).

Edit to add: Would also consider a good quality E280 or E320 Coupe. I don't need the estate's space, but just have always admired both the W124 estate and coupe as handsome looking cars.

I'm located near Oxford, but would be willing to travel for the car. My budget is flexible within reason and I realise I could well be looking at the top end of the market here.

Many thanks,

Simon

you need to visit Nick Froome or one of the other specialists. Not sure if i can post a link with the new advertising rules, so i wont. google it.

Koolvin,

Could you please explain how it comes to be that you banned Nick Froome yesterday & are thanking SilverSaloon for recommending him less than 24 hours later?

Shall I now be banned for having the temerity to ask you this question?

Thanks :) Nick Froome is the w124.co.uk site? I've found that now.

I'd like to get in contact with Dougal74 about his 320CE he has in the for sale section. He's asked for PMs about the car but being a new member I don't have PM rights yet (I think). I'd really like to get in touch with him about the car, so if any admin or mods could help, that would be brilliant.

Thanks,

Simon

Hi Simon,
I know you would prefer a larger engined W124, but if you would consider a 'nearly immaculate' 84k mile 1996 E220 Estate with an almost fully-stamped service book, perhaps you might like to contact me. It is finished in Silver with light cloth interior and is an absolute delight to drive. Its only the 5-seat version (without a/c), but if you are looking for a really nice one, then you might consider mine. - Asking c.£2k. You can ring me on 01789 268026 / 07947 119347 or email robdudrenec at yahoo dot co dot uk. All the best, Robert. P.S. I'm in Stratford upon Avon

Hi I have a late 300TE...fully loaded...leather, electric memory seats, air-con, 7 seater, cruise, alloys

Car has done 162,000 miles but drives like a dream, has had its head gasket done, and get this, comes with £16,000 of invoices to back up the full service history.

Benefit of a 300 is it has none of the electronics of a 280/320 and none of the wiring harness problems and its the creamiest of the straight sixes.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the posts, but I've found a car now - can't wait to pick it up!

Simon

I've picked up my new car now, Adam's lovely E320 Coupe, was a pleasure dealing with you, Adam and a greater one driving home.

The Fiat is going today hopefully, so then will come the all-important garage-fitment test!

Any mods who see this are welcome to lock/delete this thread. :)

Congrats! Any pics before the thread goes? I'm starting to become slightly obsessed with them!!

Lovely looking car, and a great buy.

Didn't read the post properly, and assumed it was the estate you were after!
