W124 - excessive wind noise

My W124 280E has a surprising amount of wind noise that kicks in at anything over 30mph. It appears to come from the top edge of the windscreen. It's not a 'normal' amount of noise (my Aygo and my GF's Fusion have far less wind noise).

Now, it had a replacement screen a year and a bit ago, and I'm guessing that Mr Autoglass didn't refit something correctly. Just wondering if anyone familar with those shiney bits of trim along the top and sides of the screen (and/or whatever's underneath them) might have an idea of possible causes?

There is a seal on the sides of the screen,on the outside.check if any of them is missing.Otherwise no idea

Thanks will do. I'll try searching for one of those exploded diagrams that shows how it fits together.

Update - now been able to compare the trim on this '93 W124 with the same on my '91 W201, and the W124 one has a slight amount of give in it. Meaning that when I press it in the centre, it closes up very slightly. The W201 seems rock solid with no movement.

So I presume this is the culprit - and it's air getting caught there.

Likelty to be a DIY fix? I'll search for windscreen trim removal/refit threads...

I apologise in advance for this cheesy childish joke and I'm quite surprised no one hasn't said it before :D. As there are a few kids on here .

You could do with getting in touch with these people.
