Hi all,

I believe I'm right in saying that the 2 auxiliary electric fans should cut in either when the engine gets hot (90 degrees) or the aircon is switched on. Mine don't come on in either case - where is the temperature sensor for the fans. (I have a sneaking suspicion this should be easy and I'm being stupid, or that I didn't reconnect it when I rebuilt the engine wiring loom, but in either case I'm damned if I can find it!)

Thanks in advance.

You will find it by the side of the thermostat. It has 2 wires going to it. You can short it out to see if it actuates the fans.

Thanks for that. However, the only wiring going to the thermostat are two connectors, both going to the top, one with 4 wires going to it and the other with 1. On the right hand side there is a largish (15mm?) bolt that seems to serve no purpose - might this be where the sensor would screw in? (I haven't had the car very long and the thermostat housing has obviously been replaced relatively recently.)
