Hello,

My fuel pump relay has failed and the car won't start. When I bridge '30' and '87' I can hear the main pump buzz. With the relay fitted, nothing. I've opened it up and there's no obvious issue re dry joints etc so it's looking like I need a replacement.

Where's best to go?

Part number is 002 545 05 05

Many thanks in advance for any pointers!

:)

Just to update the thread. I bought a new relay from Mercedes. £94 plus VAT. Running like a Swiss Watch again.

good for another 20 years then !

That was my thinking...

I'm sure I could have got a used one for a fraction of the price but it would be twenty years old and could leave me stranded at some inconvenient time. Better to bite the bullet and hopefully have no more trouble for years to come!

The relay on a 1982 230e, W123 has just failed. The third one in 32 years! This time intermittently. Price here in South Africa now more than double the last one purchased. R3,500 or closer to UKP194. Currently using my bridged 'stanby' relay while I save up to buy a new one.
