W124 gauges.

Hi everyone,my 1993 w124 605 diesel has a problem with the gauges.they will have a hissy fit, fuel shows full,temp to 120 and oil pressure drops to low.The gauges then return to normal.This is now happening daily.

This is normal if the engine is doing that . Coolant temperature up Hot coolant then oil pressure drops . But if it returns it could be short in the loom . Fuses would be my first port of call, along with earth leads ti the body .

Thanks for your reply. It happens hot or cold,a tap on the dash and all gauges return to normal. I will check the fuses and earth leads.Regards Phil.

Haven't you just answered your own query there?
If a tap on the dash cures it (as it used to with my wonky temperature gauge), how can it possibly be a fuse or earth problem?
Source yourself a serviceable triple gauge and swap it over. Easy DIY.
