W124 heavy steering E320 estate

So it's that time of year when kids want to go to the beach etc so my trusty old estate comes out for that duty so they don't trash our regular wheels. However the power steering is almost non existent. Fluid is full no signs of any leaks although the fluid is very dark. Any one got an idea what the problem may be?

These are all fine checked this first. I'm a bit of a mechanical two left footer!!

Both lover wish bones replaced last week along with engine mounts.
