w124 ignition replacement question- black collar stuck

I am in the process of replacing the tumbler on my w124 as they key started sticking. Got the old one out without too much difficulty but I just made the mistake of test fitting the black collar without the tumbler to see how it goes in. It clicked into place without too much pressure but now it wont come out! any ideas how to remove it?
