do you reckon £250 supplied & fitted is OK to replace the part highlighted? Part is about £30

As I said previously, with proper tool it is less than 1 hour.

How far away from the Glasgow brothers are you (forget thir name) ?

They deal in the older mercs and will probably have the tool, as they are the register captains for the 190 models (same suspension) in the authorised club.

Your total cost with them would be of the order of £100 inclusive, in my opinion, and they would not have to dismantle the suspension so nil alignment issues afterwards.

i'm a fair distance and as car has no MOT i'm a bit limited to how far i can drive it to a garage.

£250 price is at a main dealer supply & fit the part.
 
ask them for a price to include MOT.

you are legally allowed to drive car to have it MOT'd if booking made.

He might even discount the MOT as part of the package.
