I have more 124's than the average person (5)
and for me there is nothing else I would contemplate. My two personal favourites are both 3 ltr 24 valve models. I have driven all sorts of Mercedes. Some nice and some not so nice. The nicer ones always (in my eyes) are the 124's. For me they are predictable on the road, offer a little something more than you think, are comfy and iconic.
