W124 Remus backbox

Does anybody know whether there are any decent back box options for the s124?

There are but very rare unless you go for the ugly remus one
I`ve one for an S210 if you`re interested but i`ll not be a straight fit

The box didn't sell - no bids at all.

The ad was pulled prior to it ending so I assume it sold to someone turning up with cash.

AMG square tip back box on ebay as well

Mercedes W124 AMG Exhaust genuine AMG W124 back box genuine AMG W124 SQUARE BOX | eBay

Does anybody know whether there are any decent back box options for the s124?

Well I went and bought it... Paid a shade over £300...

It has the AMG SNA005, and HWA 124 490**15 part number... (cant make out 2 digits)

Last one I saw on ebay.de for a six cylinder was a NOS one that sold for 600EURO's before shipping...

This was the correct 4 cylinder one for my cabriolet, which is probably rarer than the six cylinder version, though not neccesarily more valuable, just harder to find, as I found out...

The last 4 cylinder one sold over here was by a forum member Fnkhan iirc, and was NOS and was up for £400 or £500, and this was about 5 years ago, and all these parts have gone up in price since...

The square, slash cut tailpipes, sell for close to £100 each (as iv seen on ebay.de)... so this was a no brainer for me, even though i had trouble paying over £300 for a used back box....

Overall seems to be in good nick but will probably give it a scrub with a metal brush and a quick coat of halfords high temp matt black exhaust paint....

Have you put it to good use yet??

Theres 2 versions of these AMG backboxes, the first is where the tailpipes are angled upwards to fit the standard rear apron, and the second one where tailpipes are straight and longer to clear the AMG rear apron.

I had to get the tailpipes cut off, made longer and straightened to clear the AMG rear apron so the "AMG" logo's show.

Never knew that, so in that respect i should be fine, with it coming off a AMG kitted car, the logo's on mine should clear the AMG bumper just fine....

That car does look very smart...

There you go, this was when I first had that backbox fitted, the car was standard back then. By the way, when I first had this fitted, the exhuast was hanging pretty low, a good 2-3 inches below the bumper. I used R107 exhaust bungs as they were much shorter to get it closer to the bumper. Its suprising how heavy these are compared to the standard back box.

The one that is for sale will be a direct bolt on for your car, no need to modify anything.
