Hi all,
How does the rev limiter work on an E320 (1995)? Mine will not rev above about 3000rpm (getting very jerky at that speed), regardless of gear (so for example I cannot exceed 70mph-ish at the moment).
I know that there is a limit on the engine speed when in neutral/park (which I thought was 4000rpm?) but how does it actually work - does the gearbox tell the ecu when it is in neutral/park or is it triggered by the road speed somehow?
Below 3000 all is fine (and I have recently replaced wiring loom, plugs, leads and coil packs).
Thanks in advance.
