W124 servicing: what needs to be done?

My 1994 W124 E220 auto doesn't have much history (full history for the last 20,000 miles and then bit and pieces from before that) and it has covered 178,000.

I know when the oil/filter and plugs were last changed and I believe from this fine forum that 9,000 miles is fine for the oil but how often should the plugs be changed?

Also, what about all the other oily bits? Gearbox/diff etc? Should I worry about these? If so, how often should I change/top up the oil?

Anything else I should consider? I'm not talking about wiper blades and bulbs etc. but the important stuff which could cause damage if left too long.
